As Your Family Grows, We'll Be There for You

In the fall of 2006, we met Nicole and Calvin in a local coffee shop to discuss their wedding photography. We enjoyed their attitudes about each other and life. We were delighted when they booked us to shoot the wedding and also chose an engagement session at Indian Springs State Park. We had a great time with them.

In 2007, their wedding took place on the lawn at The Atlanta Motor Speedway. What fun we had! The bridal party dressed in the VIP Suites. The family is filled with NASCAR fans. I even got them to pose by the huge sign.

In the fall of 2007, we met Nicole's family at Heritage Park in McDonough, Ga., with Nicole already expecting.

When the eighth month of maternity came, they chose us to record this stage of their life also.

We were in Charlotte, N.C. when the call came from Calvin with the news of their son, Jason. A quick drive back and I was invited to the hospital room and into this very special day in their lives.

And then, last week, we once again had the pleasure to photograph them at our studio.

As they were leaving, we thanked them both for choosing us. "We'll be calling you again!" Nicole said to us.

Wow! This is the essence of why we are in this business. We know the importance of family. We know how quickly we grow and how we cherish our memories...memories that can be relived with a glance at a photograph.

Nicole and Calvin are just one of the couples that we have followed from the wedding to a newborn child. There are quite a few families who have let us grow with them and we truly feel it is a privilege to document life for them. Thank you!

Congratulations, Meredith & Dustin!

Meredith and Dustin were married at a perfect venue, in a perfect ceremony, and on a perfect day. Dunaway Gardens, 45 minutes south of Atlanta, was the paradise setting of a beautiful wedding. Filled with flowing pools and lush greenery, this may be one of my favorite places to date.

Meredith had some very special requests. Together, we had some great ideas and got some great shots.

Lisa also brought some creativity to the "Wedding Tree." The couple was so responsive and relaxed...our job was easy.

When we placed them at this pool, I was looking to use the waterfall. Then the sun broke through and highlighted Meredith and Dustin exactly where they were standing!

We couldn't refuse the reflection photos, either.

I wish I could take credit for this one, but Dustin climbed into the cart on his own and I simply had the others gather around.

Meredith arranged the wedding party and then turned them loose to have fun.

We truly enjoyed ourselves and we could never call days like this one work!

Photography presentation

Lisa and I gave a presentation today called "Take Better Digital Photographs." We were invited by the East McDonough-Locust Grove chapter of MOMS Club International.
I enjoyed the chance to share some tips and offer some suggestions to help others improve their photography skills. I think the one tip that helps the most is to get down on your subject's level. Bend those legs and get away from the adult looking at child perspective.
Thanks to all the MOMS Club members for allowing us to speak.
Congratulations to Carol and Jim Braswell in the birth of their daughter, Leah. It's always a pleasure to be a part of an addition to a family.

There are still a few weekend dates available for the Fall Christmas Portrait specials. Contact us for details.

If I could choose?

This week, a friend asked me which type of photography do l like the best?
There is nothing like photographing college football when a passing play develops two yards from your lens and a quick check reveals a nice catch in perfect focus. Or leaning over the pit wall in Daytona as you are photographing a thirteen second, four tire change, and fuel pitstop. Another comes to mind is the first dance at a wedding reception as tears of joy roll down the mothers' cheeks. The photo safari in Kenya is an unforgetable experience. Even covering press conferences or speaking events are both challenging and enjoyable to me. And this week's family sessions with perfect weather made me say to my friend, I love them all!
Here are a few from this week:

Seven-month-old Logan and his proud parents, Regina and Scott.

Now a few from the Shade family:

It seems like just yesterday we were photographing Regina and Scott's engagement session and then wedding. We are so honored to be documenting life like this. I am greatly apreciative of the all of the places my cameras have taken me, each unique and full of different challenges. I still have to say that I love them all.

Meet the Bride!

The Georgia Bridal Show was a huge success for us. We had to the pleasure of meeting hundreds of brides, grooms, mothers, and fathers. Our booth was busy right up until the fashion show. Ladies, I don't know how you got the grooms out of the house with NFL, NASCAR, MLB, and the US Open on television, but we were glad to see them there also.

We received many praises on our custom albums as they could see and feel the quality and design. We also had several enlarged framed prints and the most popular was the one below. I think this photo single-handedly sold thousands of hydrangeas for the florists next year.

Congratulations to Gretchen Babbitt! Gretchen is the winner of our engagement session drawing from the bridal show. We look forward to your free engagement session.

Thanks to all of the nice people who inquired about our services. We wish you much success in your wedding planning. We hope we can fill your need for photographic services. Please email or call for any additional questions.

We have already secured a booth for the January 4, 2009 Georgia Bridal Show at the Gwinnett Center. If you were not able to attend, I highly recommend it. It is a great way to see the products and meet the vendors one-on-one.

Georgia Bridal Show

It's a busy week here as Lisa and I are preparing for the Georgia Bridal Show this Sunday, September 7th. The show is one of the largest in the southeast and is held at the Gwinnett Center in Duluth just north of Atlanta on I-85.

This is a great place to meet vendors and see their work up close. We will have several framed prints and sample albums, as well as information about our services. Also, we will be able to answer your questions about wedding photography.

If you are planning your wedding, we would be delighted to meet you and show you what we have to offer to make your day a success.
