Exciting 1st half of 2013

It has been a great year so far! Weddings and more weddings, Hot Rod car photography, some commercial photography, and even pole mast photography! But through all of the work, I have let the blog remain static. The best way to keep up to date on our photography is our FB page but that is no excuse for no new blog posts and soon we will begin to pen some of the amazing stories of 2013!

Viveca & Perry - A Brasstown Valley Resort Wedding

We met Viveca & Perry at Starr's Mill for their engagement session. We have photographed here before but Perry told us how parts of the movie "Sweet Home Alabama" was filmed here. We saw nothing but smiles from this couple on a beautiful afternoon!

The December wedding was held at Brasstown Valley Resort. A mini destination wedding for us which meant a very nice hotel bed instead of the late night car ride home!

Lisa met Viveca for hair and makeup and almost instantly I received a phone call from Lisa telling all about the bride and bridesmaids' boots.

There was even mixed snow and sleet falling so the fire was a cozy addition.

The reception was a fun celebration. DJ's Steve and Eric of Atlanta Mobile Sounds kept the guests dancing all night and they had some great crowd photo moments! This is our second time working with them and we are looking forward to the next event! They are very talented in knowing what to play and when to play it, what to say and when to say it!

We really enjoyed our weekend get away in the north Georgia mountains. The staff at Brasstown Valley Resort was friendly and helpful. Viveca and Perry were happiness in motion. But the wedding party, the families, and all of the guests, truly gave us all a day to remember. Thank you all for letting us share this day with you!

Kim & Gabe - An Uptown Wedding

Kim and Gabe's engagement session was at Piedmont Park last fall. They told us that one of their favorite pastimes was to have lunch in the park. Armed with a complete picnic setup and several clothing changes, we hit the park early.

On wedding day, Lisa met the bridal party at Dry Bar in Buckhead for the hair and makeup.

I met Gabe at The Historic Academy of Medicine in Midtown Atlanta, the venue for this exciting wedding.

When you enter the main doors your eyes are taken high to the chandelier which claims it's fame from it's role in the movie "Gone with the Wind."

I also made the rehearsal the night before to get my light readings and photo angles for the big day where Gabe graciously gave me a full tour of this great venue.

The paper flower bouquet was new to me. Just like the engagement session, Lisa and I saw how every detail had been carefully planned and we were very impressed.

The couple had also planned a "first look" meeting before the ceremony in order to allow more time for photos. The first look went just as planned in the courtyard.

And since they are both recent graduates of Georgia Tech, we all took a quick walk for a must-have photo.

Of course, there is always time for the "Abbey Road" shot.

A box contained puzzle pieces where each guest wrote a memorable note to the couple. The puzzle was assembled at the end of the night to reveal our engagement photo.

As they made their way through the sparkler parade, I was asked to follow them to a favorite hangout on Peachtree Road.

I had to make a few stops along the way.

A wonderful December wedding in Uptown Atlanta! We cannot say enough good things about the staff of The Academy of Medicine. It was our first experience here and we are looking forward to working here again soon!
